What you may do with it

Play it, as much as you like, on as many devices as you like. Make puzzles from your own photographs. Send someone a link to a puzzle made from one of the photographs that ship with the app.

None of that needs permission, and nothing is counted against you.

What is here now, and what is not built

Today Snugsaw cuts puzzles on your own device and lets you send a link to a puzzle made from a photograph that shipped with the app. No photograph of yours is hosted anywhere, and there is nothing to join.

Sending someone a puzzle made from a photograph of your own is not built yet. Where these terms describe it, they describe what will apply to whoever uses it once it exists — not something on offer today.

Your photographs stay yours

You keep whatever rights you hold in a photograph you use here. Tinker Dev Pte. Ltd. takes no ownership of it, claims no rights in it, and will not use it for anything beyond the thing you asked the app to do.

What you give instead is a narrow, nonexclusive permission: to work on your photograph on your device in order to cut and draw the puzzle, and — for a puzzle you later choose to share, once sharing exists — to store the crop you chose and its configuration and hand them to whoever opens your link. Nothing broader: not to show it anywhere else, not to promote this product with it, and not for any purpose you did not ask for.

Taking that share down ends that permission, apart from what ending it cannot reach: the work of winding the share down, the caching lag and the copies already on other people’s devices, and anything the law requires us to keep.

Use photographs you are allowed to use

Make puzzles from pictures that are yours or that you have permission to use, and be sure of that before you send one to anybody else. A face in a photograph belongs to a person who may have a view about where it travels.

Nothing unlawful, and nothing a person would not want sent to them. If something shared through Snugsaw should not be there, write to support@tinkerdev.io with the link and we will look into it.

Accounts, once there are any

When sharing your own photographs arrives, sending will need an account and receiving will not. An account is yours to look after, and what is sent from it is treated as sent by you.

We will be able to take down a hosted image, a link or an account used for something these terms rule out. That reaches only what is hosted: puzzles on your own device are beyond our reach, and we are not moderating them.

The photographs that come with it

The starter photographs are the owner’s own work. They ship with the app so there is something to play on the first day, and so a link to a puzzle can travel without carrying a picture.

They are there to be played with here — not to be downloaded and used elsewhere.

What is not promised

This is offered as it is, without a warranty of any kind. It may have faults, it may change, and parts of it may stop working.

Your puzzles live in one browser on one device, and browsers do clear their own storage — when they run short of room, or when someone clears the site data. Nothing here is a backup, and a photograph you would hate to lose should live somewhere else as well.

Once sharing exists, taking a share down will stop anyone new from opening it and will not reach copies already on other people’s devices. Nothing here promises a recall, or a deletion that reaches everywhere at once.

Nothing here is being sold

This document carries no commercial terms. If it ever needs them, they will be written and shown before they apply to anybody.

Stopping

Stop whenever you like. Closing the tab or taking the app off your home screen leaves your puzzles waiting where they are. Clearing its site data is a different thing, and it removes the puzzles, progress and settings the app stored in that browser on that device.

Neither reaches your original photographs, anything you exported, or a copy somebody else already has. There is no account to close today, and nobody to tell.

If these change, the revised terms are published on this page, with an updated date beneath them.
